About three months. My fade was very quick. Once I knew ttatt my head rebelled at the meetingsand I began missing more and more and the 2013 memorial was my last. I'd planned a longer fade but I just couldn't take the bs anymore.

Is this new donation arrangement for real?
by nugget injust read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.
congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.
congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.

I wonder how this tithe like arrangement will work in really poor countries. Is the head of a household of Zambian subsistence farmers going to be asked how much more of his little plot he can set aside to grow stuff to sell for contribution money? Or is the single mother of the Guatemalan child who raises a chicken, sells it for a dollar, and donates the dollar to the wt, going to have to make a pledge to have her child raise another chicken each year?
I've been to an Asian country where the jws travel to an assembly after saving all year. I heard of a sister who some days didn't even have 50 cents to buy rice for her children. A non jw neighbor or other might give her 50 cents so she and the kids get at least one meal that day. Jws who work 6 days a week and make a dollar a day and live in grass huts. These large extended Asian families living on nothing are discouraged from pooling their resources to send just one son or nephew to a more affluent country to send money back to the family or to school to get a better job to lift the family out of grinding poverty. How TF do they expect these people to make pledges? Or is this arrangement only for developed countries? In that case, not one cent will go to helping an ailing Burmese grandma or giving 50 cents a day so a widow's children can eat.

Why do you identify each black speaker but no have in brackets after the others (white)? Does identifying a man specifically as black have some special significance to American readers that I as an Australian am missing? Cuz to me it shouldn't make a difference if a person is black and therefore I wouldn't stipulate that he's black.

Jesus had to die? Really?
by punkofnice ini admit i no longer believe in god and holy books.. thinking of the made up 'universal sovereignty' thing, surely if god existed in the way the holy books describe him then he could have thought of something better than humankind suffering thousands of years and the slaughter of jesus?.
couldn't god have said: 'well, satan is a very naughty boy but you all know how great i am so we can end it now.
i will lovingly kill satan and his mates and that's that.

Well done mate. It's amazing how much the jw life messes up your health. Many of us, myself included, have done like you and had improved health since leaving. I myself am on a quarter of the anti depressant dose I was just 18 months ago as a jw.
Here's to your very best of health!

Sneaky buggers put an invitation in my letter box. I've been waiting for them to come to my new house so I could very politely ask to be put on their do not call list with no elders coming around every year either. Then watch them go, "ummm..."
